maya soft selection tool On/off

when i am doing a spaceship model in maya 2009.unfortunately whenever i select an edge or face or vertex it shows a red:yellow:black gradient selection.after strugling for long hours i just find out that i had unfortunately selected the

tool settings :
soft selection check box ON

solution : switch off

maya viewport flickering

i have this problem with Maya’s viewport. sometimes (quite often though) the viewport(s - any viewport, not just the perspective, sometimes even 2 viewports at once) just won’t redraw/refresh whenever i zoom, pan, move or even rotate them. sometimes it happens on the hypershade window as well… i have to “refresh” manually with hitting spacebar twice.

solution

Turn off : “Threaded Optimization” in NVidia settings.



also is using Nvidia Geforce card ,then

set maya environment variable :

MAYA_GEFORCE_SKIP_OVERLAY=1

it is a autodesk Maya bug (2008,2009) both 64bit &32bit.
